Engagement Photo Session At The Art Institute of Chicago

Have you ever dreamed of saying "I do" surrounded by masterpieces? For Anastasia and Carlos, that dream came true during their unforgettable engagement session at The Art Institute of Chicago. It was an intimate experience full of love, art, and the joy of being together in one of Chicago's most iconic locations. Grab your coffee and settle in, because I can’t wait to tell you all about this special day—and give you a peek into what it’s like to work with me as your Chicago wedding photographer.

The Setting: Engagement Photography At The Art Institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago is the perfect blend of elegance and modern charm. Between its columns, stunning outdoor gardens, and awe-inspiring galleries filled with some of the world’s finest art, it’s no wonder couples want to come here for their weddings and elopements. On this particular day, the sun was shining, maybe beating down on the bustling streets of Chicago, and melting them. It was HOT. So to be able to beat the heat in the morning right as The Art Institute of Chicago opened was phenomenal.

We started outside, where Anastasia and Carlos’s first background was against the backdrop of the museum’s stunning architecture. We began with the gardens around the museum just before the Art Institute opened.

The sunny, very hot weather may have made us all reach for extra water bottles. But it also brought out the golden glow of the city, making every photo feel like it was dipped in sunlight. Quite simply the vibe was on point. But even in the morning it was getting toasty, so we quickly made our way into the Art Institute.

Anastasia actually works at the Art Institute of Chicago, so she knew exactly what spots she wanted to hit and we explored in between. Wandering through the galleries, Anastasia and Carlos posed next to works of art that felt completely timeless. My personal favorites are the classical Greek and Roman statues and sculptures. But there are unlimited options and possibilities for an engagement session at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Being able to photograph in a space as rich in history and creativity as The Art Institute is a photographer’s dream. There are no bad angles in a place like this, which makes the process so much easier and fun for me, and gets easy stunning results for you!

THE COUPLE: A LOVE THAT SHINES

Anastasia and Carlos’s energy was as bright as the Chicago summer sun. They were playful, lighthearted, and so wonderfully in tune with each other. To be honest, every engagement session starts a little awkward as we break the ice a bit. But quickly every smile and laugh looked and felt effortlessly authentic. And it was clear we were all soaking in every moment.

MILLENNIUM PARK: A QUICK ADVENTURE

No engagement session in downtown Chicago would be complete without a stroll through Millennium Park. We took some time to explore the lush green spaces. And the pedestrian bridge from the park to the Art Institute was probably my favorite spot. The view of the city behind them was so cinematic, big fan.
