Ana & Mateo’s wedding was everything a fall Wisconsin wedding should be—vibrant, fun, and full of life. Seriously, if I could bottle up the energy from this day and keep it forever, I would. From heartfelt traditions to the kind of homemade food that makes you rethink your entire approach to food, this was a celebration that truly felt like home.
The Start of the Day & A Quick Pivot
When Ana first reached out, I was beyond excited—not only because she’s the sweetest human, but also because I had photographed her sister’s wedding. It’s always such an honor when a family welcomes me back for another big milestone, and I knew this was going to be something special.
Originally, we had planned to take couple’s portraits at Big Bay Park, but in true wedding-week fashion, things took a little turn. When I went to check the location earlier in the week (pro tip: always do this), I found out it was completely under construction with no way to access the lakeshore. Yikes.
Luckily, Milwaukee is packed with gorgeous lakefront spots, and Klode Park ended up being the *perfect* alternative. With Lake Michigan stretching endlessly behind them and the trees showing off their early fall colors, Ana & Mateo looked like they stepped straight out of a dream.
The Reception at 100 Gems: An Unforgettable Celebration
Now, let’s talk about 100 Gems. If you’re planning a Milwaukee wedding and you haven’t checked out this venue yet, *do yourself a favor and go*. The space was the perfect blend of elegance and party, giving Ana & Mateo’s reception a warm, intimate feel while still having plenty of room to party (which, trust me, they did).
One of the most special things about this wedding was how much the family was involved. Instead of hiring a catering company, Ana & Mateo’s family came together to prepare the food, and let me tell you—it was some of the *best* food I’ve ever had. I’m not exaggerating when I say they could open a catering business and immediately be the most sought-after vendor in Milwaukee weddings. Every dish was made with so much love, and you could taste it in every bite.
A Night to Remember
From the heartfelt toasts to the dance floor that stayed packed all night, Ana & Mateo’s wedding was a true reflection of who they are—joyful, deeply connected, and always up for a good time.
Ana told me they chose to work with me because they had seen the energy and results I brought to other weddings in their family, and that honestly means the world to me. Capturing those real, unfiltered moments and helping couples feel completely themselves in front of the camera? That’s the good stuff.
