Dream Spring Wedding at St. James 1868


If you’ve never stepped inside St. James 1868 in Milwaukee Wisconsin, let me paint the picture for you: soaring ceilings, stained glass windows that feel straight out of a European cathedral, and the kind of old-world charm that makes you feel like time slows down the second you walk through the doors. It’s rich, elegant, romantic, and full of possibility—and it was the perfect setting for Alyssa & Adam’s wedding day.


From the very beginning, these two (maybe mostly Alyssa) knew exactly what they wanted: simplicity with stunning results. When they found me, they told me they were drawn to my timeless editing style and simple approach. Music to my ears. Because weddings, while incredibly beautiful, can be a whirlwind—and my job is to help slow that down just enough to let you soak in every moment.


And wow, what a day this was.

A Modern Classic


Alyssa & Adam tied the knot on a gorgeous early spring day. The kind where the sun is warm, but not too hot, the flowers are starting to bloom, and the breeze makes everything feel fresh and new. It set the perfect backdrop for everything that unfolded at St. James—from the heartfelt vows to the champagne toasts that had everyone (myself included) tearing up and cracking up in equal measure.


One of my favorite things about this wedding at St. James 1868 was how classy and timeless it felt, yet totally and completely free at the same time. Alyssa absolutely glowed in her gown—so many beautiful bridal portraits up in the Hyde, we could’ve done a whole session just for her. And the bridal party? Talk about bringing the energy. They hyped their people up all day long, which made my job as a Milwaukee wedding photographer an absolute dream.


Every corner of St. James offered something unique. From the dramatic altar space in the Abbey to the soft light pouring into the Chapel, we took full advantage of the venue's architectural beauty. Milwaukee weddings often have that special blend of old-meets-new, and St. James 1868 is no exception—it’s historic and elevated while still feeling intimate and cozy.

Personal Touches and Meaningful Moments


One of the coolest details? We wove some “dad cam” footage into their wedding film. Moments captured on a tiny handheld camcorder by a family member. It added this beautifully imperfect, nostalgic feel that no outside perspective could have recreated. It was raw and real, and honestly, it brought something so personal to their final wedding video that I can’t stop thinking about it.


Another favorite moment was wheeling out the projector for Alyssa's first dance with her dad. Showing them at a childhood dance recital. Let me tell you. There was no one in the room who was not wiping away tears.


Also, Flowers For Dreams completely blew us away with the floral arrangements. Elegant, effortless, and bursting with life. They matched the tone of the day perfectly. From the altar to the bouquets, every bloom felt thoughtfully chosen. And shoutout to Danielle Gehrt, the incredible venue coordinator at St. James, she kept everything running smoothly so the couple (and their crew!) could stay totally present and enjoy every second.
